So sorry I haven't been updating my Blog, I guess once Paige started school it's just been busy busy with one thing or another but hey, at least I am back and that's what counts right?

Halloween is my favorite holiday, so many great decorations, fun crafts to do with the kids, so many fun traditions (like 'Boo-ing'), pumpkin patches, costume parties and of course trick-or-treating Halloween night.

Ok, so one of my favorite traditions to do with the kids is to go 'Boo-ing' and it doesn't really cost anything to do since you probably have some of it around your house already. Just grab a bag (any size will do), fill it with some goodies/candy (I usually do small Halloween favor type toys topped with some candy) and don't forget to include the instructions about the 'Boo'. I found these FREE super cute printables over at Lil Boo & Co.

Grab some glow-sticks for the kids and head out to get your 'Boo' on, the kids will love it and if you get lucky you might get a 'Boo' back! We do it every year and have also been lucky to get a 'Boo' back as well :)

A Weekend of Halloween Family FUN

We had such a fun weekend wearing our costumes and celebrating Halloween. On Friday night, we went to a family Halloween party at our friend Laura's house, co-hosted by another friend Amy. The kids had a great time jumping in the bounce house, eating spooky treats and playing with friends while Jon and I got a chance to socialize with our friends. Jon and I even got dressed up; he had a gorilla costume he bought last year when we hosted a Halloween party and on the day of the party I bought one of the few costumes Target had left on the shelves which was a Tavern Girl (Tavern Wench) costume. Perfect for me I guess since I could nurse Harlow in it...ha ha!

Harlow had two costumes this year since Paige and Aiden went in different directions and I couldn't decide which to partner her up with, so at this party she was a 50's girl along with her sister Paige...so SWEET together!

Saturday, the kids were ready to gear-up again in their costumes and head out to a Halloween themed birthday party at our community Club House. Paige and Aiden enjoyed fun games and food. Paige even won one of the Best Costume prizes and her prize was a box of Boo Berry cereal...so CUTE!

Then it was finally time to go trick-or-treating. We started off a little dysfunctional trying to keep Paige and Aiden together along with Harlow in toe, on top of Jon trying to take video and pictures. So we stopped to re-evaluate our plan to get us moving door to door a little faster. I put Harlow on me in the sling and the stroller became our dumping grounds for overflowing candy, jackets, the camera, the video camera, etc. So door-to-door the kids went enjoying a few pieces of candy as we went along. It was a great night and I am already looking forward to doing it all over again next year.

Well my title sums up this very busy fun filled week for us.

Paige had Boosterthon Fun Run fundraiser at her school yesterday. Jon, Aiden & I (with Harlow sleeping on me in her sling) had so much fun cheering her on at the sidelines. I couldn't help but get a little teary eyed watching my little girl run 24 laps to raise money for her school. Thank you so much for those that supported her with donations, she was so excited to get some Boosterthon goodies which included a glow in the dark Frisbee, shoe laces, wrist band watch and a headband. The night before the run she even slept with the headband on, it was so sweet!

Harlow started to officially suck her thumb yesterday. She has found it and sucked on it on occasion but starting yesterday it became her constant self-soother tool; Jon and I are happy about it because she sure is cute sucking her little thumb. I also think it's a great tool for her to use to soothe herself when mommy can't come running right away. Paige sucked her thumb when she was a baby and we were able to break her of it by the time she was 2 so I am not stressing about any long term thumb sucking problems.

Aiden and I sure have been having fun this Halloween week. We have done a lot of Halloween crafts together and he had a great time at My Gym yesterday wearing his adorable Peter Pan costume. After I finish on this Blog we will make another craft together, some spooky ghosts using his feet. I make this craft every year with the kids, it's fun to see how much they have grown since the last year.

We are really looking forward to Halloween on Saturday and also a visit from my dad and Connie. Stay safe this Halloween and have a fun time trick-or-treating on Halloween night.

Do You BOO? We DO!!!

I guess not everyone does it but we have done it for the past two years now, Paige and Aiden love going out to do some BOO-ing in our neighborhood. Costumes are optional of course. Paige and Aiden were already dressed head to toe in their costumes because we had just gotten back from a Halloween party. Aiden chose Peter Pan and Paige wanted to be a "Fabulous 50's Girl". Harlow has two costumes because she couldn't decide who to team up with (or should I say mommy couldn't decide?) so she has both a 50's girl costume and a Tinkerbell costume. More pictures to come of the kids in their costumes, just wanted to get the BOO-ing started in your neighborhoods.

Run Run Run...Fun Fun Fun!

Family Fall Fun at the Fair and the Zoo

Did I mention how much I just love fall? Such perfect weather to get the family outdoors together. We did just that this past weekend.

On Saturday, we met up with friends and took the kids to see the new 3D movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. It was such a cute movie, both Paige and Aiden sat still the entire time and enjoyed sitting next to their friends Hudson and Preston. When we returned home Jon and I gave the kids their Halloween baskets which I filled with fun Halloween themed goodies. Thank goodness for the dollar spot at Target, makes for some great inexpensive treats.



On Sunday, Jon and I took the kids to the Texas State Fair. It was our first year going and we were really excited to watch the kids ride all of the fun rides and we were ready to eat some yummy fair food.

Before we left for the fair I got some really great pictures of the kids together which isn't an easy thing to do.

On top of our fun fair day we had a celebrity sighting, we saw Oprah Winfrey. I of course was beyond excited and was eager to get a good picture of her. The first time I saw her I was using my fingers to tear apart a turkey leg for the kids so I wasn't able to get a picture of her and Gayle driving past me but as luck would have it I saw her later in the day.

The only down side of this sighting is that it started to rain but I wasn't going to let that stop me, so I moved through the crowed almost to the front (with my camera tucked into my sweater) in hopes of getting a good picture. Just as I was ready to move ahead another person they turned around and I realized it was Nate Berkus and Ali Wentworth. I couldn't get a good picture of Oprah with the umbrellas in front of me (would have been nice if I myself had an umbrella) but here are a few of the pictures I was able to get before the rain did us all under and everyone fled for cover. We actually had to buy ponchos to make it back to our car and head home.

You would have thought that a movie and the fair were enough but nope, we decided to extend out our weekend a day since Paige was off from school and take the kids to the Dallas Zoo with some free passes I won a few months back. The weather was nice and cool and the zoo was empty so it made for the perfect zoo day. I just asked the kids what their favorite animal at the zoo was and they replied the elephant.
